How it works
What an employee sees
A verified skill profile, starting from what they already do
Skills are drawn from a short survey and the role itself, then confirmed by the employee and their supervisor. Nobody starts from a blank page, and nothing goes to leadership before the person has reviewed it.
-
Underlined skills link straight to the accredited units that teach them.
-
Employees can add skills the system missed. In the pilot they kept 98.4% of what it proposed.

Roles they could grow into, and exactly what each one needs
The platform ranks roles across the organisation by how well the profile fits, then splits the target role into three groups:
-
Skills already held so credit is visible.
-
Gaps a course can close with the number of courses and units it takes.
-
Best learned on the job so training budget is optimised.
The precise units that close each gap
Recommended courses show which unit of competency covers which skill. An agency can enrol someone in a skill set rather than a whole qualification, recognise what they already hold and take a unit-level specification to TAFE or an RTO for a quote.
-
Each unit is listed with the skill it delivers, so the recommendation can be checked.
-
The other skills a course teaches are shown too, so leaders see the full return on an enrolment.

"Throughout the pilot, AI Skills RDC demonstrated a strong commitment to workforce
development innovation and provided valuable support in the design and delivery of activities aimed at identifying workforce capabilities, skill gaps, and training pathways across participating NSW Government Agencies" Senior Project Officer
Know the skills your workforce has and the ones it needs next
The Skills Gap Analysis platform gives every employee a verified skills profile, then shows leaders where the capability sits, where the gaps are, and the fastest way to close them — one shared source of evidence for workforce planning, development and reporting across agencies.
